Circulation patterns are particularly critical to a pediatric clinic of this size. It is important to isolate the children in the reception area from the sounds and activity of the clinical area. An entry/exiting vestibule separated by a glass door accomplished this separation in a building that had only limited access to the outside. The circular plan also maximized the opportunities for efficient flow for both patients and staff. Taking advantage of the unusually high ceilings each of the 4 corners of the hallway pop-up to an extravagant 12 ft. with a ‘sky-tube skylight fixture at its center. The ceiling is playful and really fun for the children of all ages to look at. Check out the ceiling detail photos.
